Fuel Good Day Returns for Its 10th Year

Fuel Good Day returns to Peninsula Co-op on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, for its 10th year of giving back to local Island families. As part of the day, 5¢ from every litre of fuel sold at Peninsula Co-op Fuel Centres will be donated to Help Fill A Dream Foundation.

This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate the 10th year of Fuel Good Day. Since Help Fill A Dream Foundation became the campaign’s recipient in 2020, Fuel Good Day has helped raise more than $100,000 for Island families.

There are even more ways to support the cause throughout the day, with proceeds from every purchase of propane, an Extreme Car Wash, and $1 from every Big Cool and coffee sold also helping support Help Fill A Dream Foundation.

If you can’t make it to one of our Fuel Centres, you can also make a donation in-store at any of our 10 The Liquor Co. 1977 locations or the Peninsula Co-op Food Centre. Can’t make it to one of our locations? You can still support the cause by donating online.

Local radio stations will also be joining the celebration throughout the day, broadcasting from three Peninsula Co-op Fuel Centre locations: Wale Road, Wilkinson Road and Millstream Road. Stop by, fill up and be part of a day dedicated to making a difference in our community, with CHEK Upside and the Victoria Royals also joining the celebration at the Wale Road Fuel Centre in the evening.

Supporting Local Island Families Through Fuel Good Day

Gabby, an 8-year-old, has Bardet-Biedl Syndrome and experienced cardiac arrest with a Middle Cerebral Artery stroke. Getting in and out of her family’s van had become an ongoing challenge, making transportation more difficult for Gabby, her family and caregivers.

Help Fill A Dream provided a BraunAbility Turny Evo seat for the family’s van, making transfers safer and easier. The specialized equipment has given Gabby more freedom to get to appointments, therapy, family outings and enjoy more everyday adventures.

Jonathan, 15, has Angelman Syndrome and requires ongoing care and support. His dad, Paul, has been caring for Jonathan since he was two months old, navigating fostering, adoption and the challenges of raising a child with complex needs as a single parent.

Help Fill A Dream provided Jonathan with a safe enclosure bed, giving him a secure place to sleep and bringing greater peace of mind to both Jonathan and his dad. For their family, the bed has meant safer, more peaceful nights and has made a meaningful difference in their daily lives.
