The Impact of Help Fill a Dream:
Kaname, a 6 month-old in Duncan, has complex medical needs with congestive heart failure requiring respiratory support.
He is on BiPAP respiratory support for most of the day but requires the machine to be carried with him at all times. He is unable to eat orally and is fed through an NJ tube requiring a feed pump for continuous feeds. Along with these two pieces of equipment Kaname will require an oxygen tank and portable suction machine to be with him at all times. Because of all the equipment the family needed to have a stroller suitable for the weight and transportation. Help Fill a Dream provided the necessary Donkey 5 Mono Complete Stroller to ease some of the families daily struggles.
This has been a long journey for the family with a long road ahead. They are very grateful for the stroller which works well and has been so helpful.
Sterling, a 17 year old in Victoria lives with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus; Help Fill a Dream will support his dream with accessible guitars and accessories.
He shared his experience with music, and what this dream means to him:
“I’ve been playing guitar consistently for eleven years, and it’s become a deeply meaningful part of my life. Whenever I’m going through a tough time, I turn to the guitar and it’s my way of expressing emotions I can’t always put into words. It grounds me and gives me a sense of peace and purpose.
What excites me most about receiving this dream is the opportunity to play even more and expand my musical horizons. My ultimate dream is to become a guitar teacher who works specifically with people who have disabilities because I know firsthand how powerful music can be, and I want to create a space where others like me can learn, grow, and feel empowered.”
