Welcome to Peninsula Co-op

Peninsula Co-op is a dynamic Vancouver Island based co-operative owned and guided by its members, with grocery and petroleum as its core business and customer service as its competitive advantage. We believe in profitability, which will enable growth to meet our members’ needs, while we uphold high ethical standards, support the communities where we do business, and share our profits and success with our member / owners.

We invite you to explore this website to learn more about the benefits of becoming a Co-op member, where we are located and the products and services that we offer.

6.0 CENT/LITRE REBATE FOR PENINSULA CO-OP MEMBERS

This year we had fabulous news for our members, a six cent per litre rebate on petroleum and home heating purchases made from April 2, 2006 to March 31, 2007.  Members also received a 3% rebate on gas purchases from participating independent Save-On Gas centres and for their cardlock purchases.  The food centre rebate remained at 5% for this time frame.

Over 26,000 membership rebates were mailed out this year and arrived in mailboxes starting the first week of December.

PENINSULA CO-OP IS PROUD TO ONCE AGAIN PROVIDE SPONSORSHIP TO TOUR DE ROCK 2008

The Canadian Cancer Society’s Cops for Cancer is a partnership between the Cancer Society and police officers, RCMP and local military police from across British Columbia. Each fall, Canadian law enforcement personnel cycle a pre-designated route in their region, raising funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research and programs that support kids with cancer, such as Camp Goodtimes. In BC there are four Cops for Cancer tours. Peninsula Co-op was a proud sponsor of the 2007 Tour de Rock, and we’re thrilled to partner with the Canadian Cancer Society again for 2008!

In September 2007 fifteen Co-op employees had their heads shaved to raise money for the Tour, providing almost $5,000 to aid children suffering with childhood cancer. With the addition of many other successful fundraising events and the partnership of Co-ops from one end of the island to the other, a grand total of almost $50,000 was donated when the riders returned home in October!

A fundraising committee has been formed and events are already underway to ensure that our 2008 contribution will be even bigger and better. March hosted our first fundraiser, “The Traveling Bake Sale,” with committee members visiting each of our sites selling home- made baked goods to both staff and customers. Check our website and Food Centre community bulletin board for news on upcoming monthly events, such as our “12 Hour Bike Tour” and “Bike Safety Expo” in June.
