Welcome to Peninsula Co-op

Peninsula Co-op is proud to announce that they will be partnering with Juan de Fuca Recreation in 2008, providing sponsorship to the Centre’s on site child-minding facility. As approved by the Board of Directors of the West Shore Parks and Recreation Society, the Co-op’s Member and Community Relations Committee will provide funding in the amount of $10,000 annually, to be reviewed each year. This funding will ensure that the much needed childcare services remain available and affordable for parents who frequent JDF.

In return, as part of the partnership agreement, Juan de Fuca Recreation will provide passes for all interested Co-op staff and board members, as well as the facilities to host special events for the Co-op’s Kids Club. With two Peninsula Co-op gas bars located on the Westshore (Goldstream and Jacklin / Millstream and Treanor), and many staff who commute from the Western Communities daily to work at locations on the Peninsula, staff are excited to begin enjoying all of the facilities offered by JDF.

The Peninsula Co-op Member and Community Relations Committee has a similar agreement in place with the Panorama Rec Centre, and strives to contribute positively to the communities where they do business through their Community Support Program. Each year the Co-op donates more than 3% of their profits to the community, in addition to the member rebate. Last year, donations in excess of $100,000 were distributed to a variety of community projects and organizations, and this year more than $300,000 has been allotted for the program.

Peninsula Co-op is very proud to support an organization such as the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre, that contributes so much to the community and to our young people.
